SAFER HOLIDAYS FOR YOUNG BRITS
Holidays – and more specifically, some of the things people do on holiday – will always have risks attached. Families of young people in the UK going away on holiday hope and expect any risks to be mitigated by sensible behaviour from those concerned, of course, but also by responsible regulation, attentive and diligent business owners and by authorities who ensure that rules and guidance are followed. Sadly, this is often not the case.
We believe that it’s not right if an accident could have been avoided; if a great adventure could have been made much safer.
#JackTheLad campaigns for Safer Holidays For Yong Brits: greater awareness of risk in our young adults going away on adventures abroad and for better safety standards & wider adoption of responsible practices from activity providers.
We are a partner in the UK Government’s TravelAware initiative, which shares many of these aims.
We aim to spread our Safer Holidays message far and wide through our Ambassadors initiative in Universities, Colleges and Sixth Forms.
We aim for as much support as possible, working with other partners in the wider travel industry. Our ambitious aim is that all of the UK’s 16-3o year olds who go away on holiday each year just give a little extra thought to their own safety and that of their friends.
When the worst happens and a tragic death occurs, we’re here to help families bring their loved ones home with repatriation grants, should this not be covered by an insurance policy.
#livelifedontloseit. That’s our attitude – and our mission.
