OUR TEAM
THE HOWE FAMILY
We started JackTheLad Foundation in memory of our son and brother Jack, after losing him in an accident in 2019.
Jack was full of life, laughter, and kindness, and everything we do is about keeping that spirit alive. Through JackTheLad, we celebrate Jack’s life and incredible energy by campaigning for Safer Holidays For Young Brits.
We also support other families facing the pain we went through ourselves, with grants to assist with repatriation costs, after a young person meets with a fatal accident overseas, when families find that insurance does not cover this.

Steph Howe
CEO
I’m Jack’s mum and one of the founders of Jack the Lad Charity.
After losing Jack in an accident, we put all our love into creating the charity in his name. We support families going through similar heartbreak by helping with repatriation, while also working to educate young people and promote safety — in the hope that no other family has to experience this loss.
I chair the Management Team and our Board Of Trustees.

Hannah Howe
Fundraising & Events Director
Hi, I’m Hannah, Jack’s older sister and one of the founders of JackTheLad.
After losing Jack, we wanted to create something meaningful to keep his legacy alive and support other families who have sadly lost a loved one.
Through the charity, we’ve been able to do just that, supporting incredible families and sharing Jack’s story to also raise awareness to be safe. Within the charity, I look after event planning and social media.

Lucy Howe
Supporter Engagement Director
I’m Lucy, one of the founders of #JackTheLad. We started this charity in memory of my twin brother, Jack, after losing him in an accident.
Jack was full of life, laughter, and kindness, and everything we do is about keeping that spirit alive.
Today, I run all our fundraising, social media, and merchandise. Through JackTheLad, we not only celebrate his incredible energy but also support other families facing the pain we went through ourselves, by helping others and spreading the laughter and kindness he was known for.

Tom Muirhead
Marketing & Partnerships Director
A friend of the Howe family for most of my life, I co-founded the charity with the Howe family and Sara. With my background in advertising, marketing and brand partnerships, I bring this experience to my work with JackTheLad. I also manage our Repatriation Grant programme.

Sara Taylor
HR, Ambassadors & Education Director
A lifelong family friend of Jack, I have supported the charity from the start. As HR Director, I bring over 30 years’ HR experience and am passionate about the cause, supporting all aspects of the charity, with a focus on the management of the Ambassador Programme.

Charlotte Henderson
Ambassador Coordinator
I’m Charlotte, and join the Jack the Lad team working with the student ambassador programme.
As Jack’s cousin, I’ve seen firsthand the passion behind this charity and the importance of its message. I’m committed to spreading awareness around safety to young people, particularly within universities. I also want to create meaningful charitable opportunities for students which allow them to make a real difference.
